Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liady: The Origins of Chabad Hasidism

Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liady (1745–1812), in imperial Russia, was the founder and first rebbe of Chabad, a branch of Hasidic Judaism that flourishes to the present day.
